(2) cd smaldini-grailsTodos-62bdd9a
(3) grails run-app

Add-on question: Is it likely that the events-push plugin will replace the atmosphere plugin, since both of them are (partially) by the same author, i.e. S. Maldini?

Thanks

I think it's the nabble web interface that omits code examples when sending mail to the maillist, seen this a few times.

Sebastien Blanc
Right I can see it now :-)
Thomas , have you installed a RabbitMQ server ? Otherwise it won't work.

Re: Cannot run 'grailsTodo' demo for grails events-push plugin

thomasbee
Ah,

I see. Thanks. I only need very little, low traffic push to less than 10 client browsers. In that case, it seems that the alternative plugin, i.e.

http://grails.org/plugin/atmosphere

does the job with less additional infrastructure? At least I got that demo running in no time.

Thanks

Re: Cannot run 'grailsTodo' demo for grails events-push plugin

Bear in mind the demo uses rabbitmq, but the plugin doesn't need that at all. You only need rabbitmq or anything you want if you cluster your app (to broadcast across nodes). Remove the plugin Spring Integration, remove the dependency and remove the resources.groovy and you will work OoB without anything.

I plan to do a blog post soon, with the demo and for the lucky UK people:

thomasbee
Thanks a lot, Stephane, demo is now working perfectly fine. Your plugin will soon be on the way to remote telescopes in South America.
