Event Management website

yemiseye
I am planning on working on a web project on grails to design social networking site for event vendors and customers. The customer doesn't need to register to view the profiles of vendors who would be divided by category ie. Photographer, makeup artiste, cake specialist etc and by event ie.wedding, burial, children party, corporate event and even DIY etc.

It's interface should have clean icons and opportunities for us to do business. (will Jquery be enough or other framework adequate)

Each vendors profile would have updated video, blog, pictures and status updates. Vendors and registered customers can chat and send emails amongst themselves. ( what plugins can be used to achieve this, i already know of the mail plugin, but what about chatting and blogging ?)

For the most part, these things are easy to spawn on your own with grails.

This post was updated on .
No better time to get learned up my friend.
Check this out:

Building Twitter with grails in 90 minutes

Plugins are nice, but one thing you may discover soon is that if you want to rely too much on just plugins, you may actually spend more time  "fighting" with plugins than you would spend just spawning what you need.

Your project would be put in even more risk if you depend on plugins that don't quite work for you and you don't know the first thing about debugging them because they seem so complex.

that aside, I am a little surprised that there doesn't seem to be a nice blogging plugin available. May have to find the time to package mine.

Thanks for giving ideas for event management. Yeah in all events, planners also play an essential role and fulfill their client’s requirements as per their needs.
