Potential Startup Ordering Issue

Steven Grossman
I was looking into the meaning of the following warning in my Grails 2.0 log and observed in the debugger that it seems to be caused by a startup ordering issue.

WARN servlet.DefaultGrailsApplicationAttributes ApplicationContext not found in org.codehaus.groovy.grails.APPLICATION_CONTEXT attribute of servlet context

In Grails 1.3.7, the code looking for org.codehaus.groovy.grails.APPLICATION_CONTEXT (org.codehaus.groovy.grails.web.servlet.DefaultGrailsApplicationAttributes#DefaultGrailsApplicationAttributes) is executed after the code that sets it (org.codehaus.groovy.grails.web.context.GrailsConfigUtils#configureServletContextAttributes).

In Grails 2.0, the code is executed in the opposite order, resulting in the above warning.

What are the potential issues that may arise due to this problem?

I am getting this warning too.
In my case the web application is not running although the war was loaded.

See my post here:

http://grails.1312388.n4.nabble.com/JBoss-4-2-3-seems-to-load-the-war-file-but-gives-a-404-page-td4638846.html

Here is the JIRA entry for this issue:
http://jira.grails.org/browse/GRAILS-8783

But no solution....

Any suggestion is welcome.

Seems that the warning had no impact after all.
I managed to load my application even thought the warning exists in the log.
