selenium-rc & hudson

Aitortxu
Hi there, I',m trying to run some functional tests in a Hudson server. All the tests run fine except of the selenium tests, which are failing because a timeout issue[1]. I'm running them with the selenium-RC plugin, and the grails plugin for hudson with the "test-app" target. The line in the test is just an open:

selenium.open("/diagnosticoEmpresarial/areas/list")

I get these message in the hudson console[2], so it seems the selenium server is working well...

One more thing, if I open a browser manually while hudson is trying to open an url and try the app url it works fine. Any idea of what's going on?

did I have to configure anything in a special way? Thanks in advance.

Do you have a screen attached? We had to add a Display via the XVNC
plugin ( http://wiki.hudson-ci.org/display/HUDSON/Xvnc+Plugin )

The Hudson server is a Windows machine, so I thought I don't have to do
so. Am I right?

Thanks for the reply Thomas. So I guess people are running Hudson on a *nix machine, so perhaps it's a Windows issue?

Just a few questions... Are you people using this combination: Selenium + selenium-rc + Hudson? Is it working? in a windows machine or in a Linux machine?

Thanks for the replies.

Re: selenium-rc & hudson

I found somewhere an advice to try this crazy timeout:

selenium.timeout = 600000

And it works!!! But now my test takes 24 minutes to run :( Do it have any sense??

Are you running using IE? I know the XPath engine is horribly slow on that.

You're right Tomas, but it's the mandatory machine on development mode
here :(
I'll set up all this stuff in a Linux server ASAP.

Thanks!!

Still worth cross-platform testing. Even if you don't use Windows you
can bet most of your users do.

Re: selenium-rc & hudson

The app works fine in windows (it has to, all my users are windows user). The problem seems to be in the integration between hudson, selenium and windows. I've just try all this in a MacOsx machine and it works well, so I guess it's a windows issue.

Thanks a lot.
